1. Frame it with a proper border
A granite, cobble or brick border does more than look well. It locks the edge of the surface so it never crumbles, and it frames the driveway against the house. It is the single detail that makes a driveway look finished rather than flat.
2. Choose a colour that suits the house

Where the driveway meets the door, steps or path is where cheap jobs show. A clean, level transition with a matching apron makes the whole approach feel considered.
4. Sort the drainage
Water pooling on a driveway looks bad and shortens its life. Falls set correctly, and drainage added where needed, keep the surface dry and lasting. On gravel and permeable finishes, water soaks straight through.

5. Soften it with planting or edging
A strip of planting, a raised bed or a clean lawn edge alongside the driveway softens the hard surface and lifts the whole look. Small touches, big difference.
