Churchtown
Gravel Driveway & Cobble Apron
The project
A gravel driveway in Churchtown with a granite cobble apron and border, set between rebuilt brick piers with sandstone caps.
The frontage was dug out and rebuilt from the base up. The brick entrance piers were rebuilt and capped in sandstone, a granite cobble apron and border were set on concrete to frame the drive, and the gravel was bedded in tight so it holds its shape.
Before & after
The transformation.
The frontage was dug out and the entrance rebuilt, ready for a new base. Drag the slider to see the change.
The process
How we did it.
01
Dug out and rebuilt
The old surface was dug out and carted away and the brick entrance piers rebuilt, with the ground brought down to a firm, compacted base.

02
Cobble apron and piers set
A granite cobble apron and border were laid to frame the drive, the piers capped in sandstone, and every course checked off a level.

The result
The finished job.
