The Blackrock limestone driveway began as a cobblelock drive that had faded and settled, in a front garden with no real shape. The old blocks came out and the ground was cut back and regraded, with the planting beds set out before any stone went down. Grey limestone was then laid to falls in large slabs, so rain runs off and away from the house, and framed in a charcoal cobble border that curves round the beds.

Low Connemara stone walling wraps the beds, so the frontage reads as one design and not a car space with a garden left over. An old cobblelock drive does not always need to go, and if the blocks are sound we will say so and quote a repair. When it has settled across the whole drive, or you want a different finish, granite and limestone driveways are built as this one was, on a full base with a bound bed.
