Gravel Driveway, Porcelain Path & Step
An old, worn block-paving driveway in Rathfarnham lifted and rebuilt as a golden gravel drive, with a large-format porcelain path and step down the centre and a granite cobble border.
The tired block-paving drive was broken out and carted away, then the frontage rebuilt from the base up. A gravel-stabilisation grid was laid and filled with golden gravel, a large-format porcelain path and step run to the door, and a granite cobble apron and border set on concrete to frame the drive and hold the gravel in place.
The transformation.
The old block-paving driveway had worn thin and weathered, with weeds through the joints, ready to be lifted and rebuilt. Drag the slider to see the change.
How we did it.
Dug out and gridded
The old block paving was lifted and carted away, the ground dug down to a firm base, and a gravel-stabilisation grid laid with the porcelain path set down the centre.

Cobble edging set on concrete
A granite cobble apron and border were bedded on concrete to frame the drive and hold the gravel, with the groundwork brought to a level, compacted base.

The finished job.
